A Foundation in the Desert

Born and raised in northern Nevada, the desert has always felt like home to me. Its open spaces, quiet beauty, and sense of history shaped the way I see the world.

With a short relocation to Portland, the Oregon Coast quickly became a place we loved, and many of our favorite memories were made there with our young children. During one of our many beach trips, we visited a small rock shop and bought two petrified wood spheres. They were a big purchase for us at the time, but they sparked a genuine appreciation for geology that followed us from town to town. Wherever we went, we found ourselves seeking out local rock shops and discovering something new.

A Journey That Came Full Circle

After six years in Oregon, we returned to Nevada to be closer to family, but we missed the coastline. We eventually bought a small home in Crescent City and searched for agates and beach stones whenever we could. That time strengthened our appreciation for natural materials and the stories they carry.

A road trip through the Northwest and Montana deepened that passion even more. We stopped at every rock shop along the way and returned with a car full of new specimens. A curio cabinet soon followed, and it continues to fill with pieces that bring a sense of calm and connection.

As the collection grew, so did the idea for something more. My interest in creating a meaningful business blended naturally with the joy we found in collecting, and Stone to Story began to take shape.

Our Mission

We curate Nevada minerals with care, focusing on authenticity, provenance, and the stories tied to each piece. Every specimen is photographed, researched, and documented with its real origin so collectors can feel confident in what they’re receiving. Our mission is not only to share minerals, but to share the moments and history behind them.

Why Nevada

Nevada’s wide open spaces, rich mining history, and striking geology offer a rare connection to the past. Whether it’s a piece of azurite from Smith Valley or jasper from a remote basin, these minerals reflect the spirit of the state: rugged, beautiful, and full of discovery.

This is why Stone to Story exists—to celebrate that connection, one specimen at a time.
